Shrink a Market!

This post from First Round’s Josh Kopelman is almost 15 years old but is as true now as it ever has been. Two areas that are front and center in the shifts accelerated by the pandemic — Health and Education — are ripe for companies taking this approach.

In the US specifically, healthcare spending does not tend to equal better health, just like education spending tends to not yield better results in the education system. When the cost and value curves decouple so severely, there is huge opportunity (especially now with so much of the status quo breaking down)
